Life in China So Far...

April 17, 2018

Hey guys, back here again with another lil post about my “travels” in China so far. I put travels in quotes because Kurt 'n' I still haven’t been able to see a huge amount due to still settling into our new job.

Life here is actually not that different to how it was when I was living in London. Oh, apart from the fact I don’t want to scream every day in Beijing and over here I do struggle to eat. The only difficulties we really face is the language barrier, our first night here it must’ve took us 15 minutes to attempt ordering a McDonald’s. Your whole life basically becomes a huge game of charades, buts it's all good fun y'know.

So what have we actually got round to seeing so far? Our first weekend on arriving here we were staying in a hotel right by the Olympic Green so of course that was worth a visit just to go and see the nest up close.

It was absolutely freezing mind, and super windy (hence why I'm covering my face in the photo of me in front of the rings), it was also the first time I’d ever seen a lake fully froze over.

Once we had finished our training at work and settled in to our apartment we took a trip to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City...

We didn’t actually realise you could go in further at the palace and see it up close. We thought it would've been super expensive but we found out afterwards that its only ¥10 so that will have to be done another days so that I can get some better photographs and explore the actual place in full.

The last place we’ve visited that we seem to always sway back to due to all the cheap alcohol, clubs and our favourite sports bar being there is Sanlitun.

And of course I have to mention the fact I get to go to work 5/7 days of the week. I honestly love my job, my students are the sweetest and most adorable things (the majority of them anyway). It can be so stressful and sometimes you wanna never go to a class again but it’s all worth it, especially for the endless cuddles and snacks you receive on a daily basis.

If you made to the end here then congratulations this was a long one due to all the pictures, but I wanted to showcase them. It's a good job I haven’t seen much more yet then right, next time I visit somewhere spectacular I’ll be sure to do just a whole post alone on it so it's not as messy as this one. I hope you enjoyed this lil series of a few photos of what I've been up too anyway.

Court x
